Genomics Conversation 2025 – Creating Connections
Bringing people and genomics together
The Genomics Conversation is a national week of action that raises awareness of genomics and its vital role in healthcare. This year’s campaign takes place from 3-7 November 2025, exploring the theme “creating connections in genomics – from curiosity to confidence.”
Each day focuses on a specific aspect of connection, with daily mini-themes designed to engage different audiences:
- Creating knowledge connections – discovering what genomics is and its relevance in healthcare
- Creating connections with colleagues – building confidence to be able to talk about genomics and seek support when needed
- Creating connections with patients – being able to answer questions and signpost to further support
- Creating connections with the genomics community – building links with genomics advisers / champions, knowing who to seek for advice or referrals
- Creating connections with fellow learners – finding your community of learning (such as via MOOCs, Master’s, webinars)
Working together across the Genomic Medicine Service
Across the country, each regional Genomic Medicine Service (GMS) has taken the lead on different days of the Genomics Conversation, highlighting examples of best practice, collaboration, and innovation.
Here in the South West, we’re proud to support and signpost to these important resources as our networks share inspiring stories and resources throughout the week.
Follow the conversation
To mark the campaign, we’ll be sharing a series of social media posts that celebrate the vital connections driving genomics forward in our region.

Incorporating genomics into practice
We are proud to collaborate with patients, the public, NHS professionals, and industry partners to deliver high-quality NHS genomic services across the South West.
Through our networks, we support the integration of genomic medicine into routine care, enabling faster diagnoses, more personalised treatments, and better outcomes for patients and their families.
We are committed to ensuring that genomics becomes an integral part of everyday NHS practice by connecting people, expertise, and innovation across our region.
